Signature K2 Space Buds Programme

October is a very special month in the Methodist Preschool curriculum calendar!

Our family of 5 Methodist preschools joins the world in celebrating World Space Week annually with a kaleidoscope of exciting Space-themed lessons and activities designed to spark our little explorers’ curiosity, imagination, interest, exploration and learning of Space! From our youngest child in Nursery, to our senior batch of K2 children, the myriad of hands-on and fun Space-themed activities specially prepared to engage our young minds promise to be a Blast! World Space Week is an international celebration of the contribution of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition.

The climax of World Space Week for our graduating batch of K2 students will be the exclusive opportunity for them to participate in a live virtual meet-and-greet session with an Astronaut to hear the first-hand sharing of his/her experience as an Astronaut. Best of all, burning questions of our young minds get answered during the interactive Q&A session during the virtual meet-up!

The privileged opportunity for our K2 cohort to zoom-meet-and-interact with an Astronaut is part of Methodist Preschool’s SIGNATURE K2 SPACE BUDS Programme. It is a first-of-its-kind programme designed to introduce preschoolers to all things Space and fire up our young minds to build interest and foundational knowledge in space, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) through age-appropriate hands-on lessons and fun activities. Essentially, FUN meets PASSION in an environment that educates, spurs creativity, and ignites passion for learning and appreciation for innovation.

Our Space Buds Programme is conducted in 2 parts for our K2 cohort. Part 1 comprises lessons on Space that are conducted by professional trainers from Space Faculty Asia around April in conjunction with the United Nations’ (U.N.) International Day of Human Space Flight on 12 April annually. Our children will even get to sample space ice cream to get a taste of dessert in space! Part 2 of our K2 Space Buds Programme happens during the annual Space Week from 4 - 10 October, where children engage in immersive Space-themed activities, culminating in the prized sharing and interaction session with an Astronaut.

Our SIGNATURE K2 SPACE BUDS Programme is a definite highlight during every Methodist preschooler's graduation year that we are confident will go a long way to fuel children’s passion and curiosity as a lifelong learner to become future-ready.

Proprietary Music Programme

Our proprietary music programme developed by Methodist School of Music and taught by trained music teachers. Our rich music curriculum engages students in learning singing skills, proper breathing techniques, music & movement as well as exposure to play some musical instruments. Music education has proven benefits of accelerating development of language and numeracy skills, enhancing memory, inspiring creativity and building self-confidence through self-expression in children.
