Sengkang Methodist Preschool Values In Action:

Love is Commitment

The N1 and N2 Start Small Dream Big project's theme is ‘Love is Commitment’.

In school, we told children the story of ‘Becky Bunny and the Missing Treasure’, a story about Grandma Bunny who had lost her precious photo and her grandchildren missed watching a movie to help her find it. Children learnt through the story that we should make time for our grandparents to be there for them. Children also learnt the importance of being committed to our family in good or bad times.

We extended the value of love and commitment to seniors beyond our family. Our teachers asked our little 3- and 4-year-old nursery children what they could do to be there for elderly. Many suggested performing for seniors to cheer them up. The idea came as the children were preparing for their annual concert. We also invited parents to contribute healthy snacks for guided our Nursery children to crate a Christmas craft which were then sent to bring cheer to the elderly at an Senior Activity Centre.

Our Start Small Dream Big project has created an awareness among our children and their families that commitment is an action of showing love to people in and outside of our family. In good or bad times, we are together.
