BEFRIENDERS TO OUR SENIOR NEIGHBOURS

@ THYE HUA KWAN AND METHODIST WELFARE SERVICES SENIORS ACTIVITY CENTRES

Love and respect are Methodist Preschools’ core values taught at Ang Mo Kio Methodist Preschool through Bible stories and fun activities in the curriculum. To put these values into meaningful actions, we organized two befriending visits to the neighbouring Methodist Welfare Services and Thye Hua Kwan Seniors Activity Centres. Our children had the opportunity to connect and engage with the seniors in a friendly and respectful way and bring warmth and cheer to them.

They sang songs, played games and worked together with the seniors to complete a piece of 3-D animal craft made of recycled cardboards. Healthy food packs donated by parents and well-wishing cards prepared by the children were given to each senior as an act of goodwill and kindness. It was a memorable time of fun and laughter and active participation by all.
