Constructive play develops children’s creativity , imagination and their ability to plan; to articulate and execute their plans within a guided programme. Key to Learning programme also sharpens children’s ability to analyse the structure of objects in relation to other block parts, hence improving their spatial visualisation capability.

Methodist Preschool collaborates with LEGO Group to run the ‘Build The Change’ programme to educate our preschoolers about global warming and the importance of environmental protection. Our little innovators are challenged to exercise their creativity using LEGO bricks to build imaginative solutions to address the adverse effects of climate change. The programme’s climax is most certainly the opportunity for students to present their creative builds during a show-and-tell session to peers and teachers. It’s never too young to be a Builder of Change!

A first-of-its-kind preschool creative education programme that fosters creative imagination, spatial intelligence, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in addition to refining our young innovators’ fine motor skills. Through a series of lessons, students will be exploring basic architectural concepts and modelling of spaces such as animal kingdom, home, classroom and playground using Blokies, 3D-doodler pen and other crafting materials.

Learning Chinese and coding concurrently using a cutely-designed interactive with voice commands, instant voice and music feedback has proven to be both engaging, fun and effective for our children! We are the 1st preschool in Singapore to teach basic coding in Chinese through play and story activities. Children develop critical thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills while having fun learning Chinese language. They also develop social and communication skills as they interact and collaborate with friends during group work.

After learning basic coding using Bee Bots in the Core Curriculum, children are presented with interesting coding challenges during the extended curriculum to encourage them to stretch their thinking to solve the tasks either in groups or individually. Through the fun coding activities and games, children sharpen their logical thinking, spatial visualisation skills and creative problem-solving skills. Children also learn to reflect and persevere when faced with challenges which are essential mindsets for future-readiness!
